Asantehene sets Nov. 30, Dec. 1 for concluding session on Bawku conflict

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has set two days for the final session of the Bawku chieftaincy conflict, according to a statement from the Manhyia Palace on Monday.

The statement, signed by Kofi Badu, Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace, announced the dates for the final hearing on November 30 and December 1, 2025.

“Manhyia Palace is pleased to announce that His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has scheduled two days, November 30 and December 1, 2025, for what is expected to be the concluding session of his mediation in the Bawku chieftaincy conflict,” read the statement.

The Asantehene, according to the statement, “praises both sides for their positive approach so far and appeals to all concerned to avoid any actions likely to affect the progress towards a lasting solution to the Bawku conflict.”

Upper East regional town of Bawku has known no peace for some time now with attacks and reprisal attacks among the main ethnic groups in the area. Enditem
