Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan said on Friday that the group Ghana finds itself in for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is quite tricky.
Speaking moments after the draw at the Kennedy Centre in the United States of America, the former captain of the Black Stars observed that despite the tricky nature of the group, Ghana will do everything possible to scale through the group stages.
“It is a very tricky group, and all the teams will want to qualify, so we’ll do our best to qualify from the group stage,” said Gyan.
Ghana was drawn in Group L, according to the draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup held late Friday.
Ghana’s group opponents at next summer’s soccer fiesta include England, Croatia, and Panama.
The West Africans will play their first game in the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Panama in June next year.
Ghana has already made four appearances at the FIFA World Cup in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022, and its best performance was a quarter-final stage at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Enditem
