Founder and General Overseer of the Gospel of Peace Ministry International, Prophet Kwame Amankwaa, has urged the government to enact a law regulating the delivery of fake prophecies by prophets of doom, especially during the 31st Watch Night services.
Speaking at the 45th Anniversary celebration of the church at Agona Swedru in the Central Region, he observed that such fake prophesies cause fear and panic among the citizenry.
The passage of a law, according to him, will help control the practice where death is always pronounced on prominent personalities in the country by self-acclaimed men of God, in the name of prophecy.
“Most men of God have used the 31st Watch Night Service as an occasion to give false prophecies as part of their New Year messages. I am calling for legislation to be enacted to check these false prophecies,” said Prophet Amankwaa.
He further condemned the call by some members of the clergy on President John Dramani Mahama to continue the construction of the National Cathedral, started by the previous administration, describing it as a move to serve their parochial interests.
Touching on how year 2025 has been, he described the year as generally a good one, except for the numerous road accidents and fire outbreaks that were recorded in the year.
The Man of God attributed such developments to carelessness on the part of drivers and some members of the public.
He expressed optimism that 2026 would be a better year and urged everyone to pray for the country. Enditem
