Social and religious bodies like the Christian Council of Ghana have called for a peaceful election and decorous conduct by all stakeholders on Saturday.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has also confirmed readiness, with essential materials like ballots printed and distribution logistics underway for the January 31 exercise.
Five candidates, including former Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Abetifi MP and former Food and Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Bosomtwe MP and former Education Minister Yaw Osei Adutwum as well as former General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong are contesting the primary.
