Thousands erupt in Papara Park as Trabzonspor welcomes Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah

Fans of Turkish club Trabzonspor gave Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah a rousing welcome at Papara Park on Thursday after he signed a two-year contract with the club.

Footage shows Salah greeting cheering supporters and performing the traditional ‘triple greeting’ celebration commonly seen in Turkish stadiums.

“The last couple of days, it’s been an experience I’ve never had in my life. I just want to thank every one of you here today and yesterday. You showed me so much love, and I never expected that reception. I am here to win,” Salah told supporters.

“I want to win something with this club because you guys showed me so much love and I really appreciate that. I want to thank the president for making this happen, and I am very happy to be here. I can’t wait to see you on the pitch,” he added.

Trabzonspor had invited supporters to attend Salah’s official unveiling after the Egyptian star joined the club on a free transfer following the end of his spell with Liverpool.

The 34-year-old begins a new chapter in his career after nine seasons with Liverpool, during which he made 442 appearances, scored 257 goals, and won eight major trophies, including two Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.
