Guinea announces partial cabinet reshuffle after presidential election

Guinean President Mamady Doumbouya appointed officials to 20 ministerial portfolios on Monday, including 18 ministers and two secretaries-general, according to a presidential decree.

The appointments follow the collective resignation of the outgoing government after the December 2025 presidential election.

The decree states that this partial reshuffle aims to fill vacant positions. The new government maintains institutional continuity, with most former ministers either retained or reassigned, while several new figures have been introduced.

The appointments cover key departments, including justice, security, economy and finance, and foreign affairs. Additionally, positions of secretaries-general, who hold ministerial rank, were also filled.

Authorities said the appointments mark a first step toward restoring constitutional order following the December election.  Enditem
