Chairman of Ghana National Gas Company, Mr. Kofi Totobi Quakyi, is leading a three-member committee to investigate allegations of vote-buying during the Ayawaso East parliamentary primaries of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), according to a statement.
According to the statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, Mr. Totobi Quakyi will be assisted by the Majority Leader, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, and lawyer Emefa Fugah.
“Following the earlier announcement by the party to set up a committee to investigate the reported widespread inducement and vote-buying during the Ayawaso East Parliamentary Primaries held on Saturday, 7th February 2026, the National Democratic Congress has constituted a three-member committee to undertake the investigation,” read the statement.
The committee, among others, is to investigate the allegations and make appropriate recommendations, including sanctions where necessary.
The Totobi Quakyi-led committee is also expected to make recommendations on sustainable measures and reforms to decisively end the practice of inducement and vote-buying in the party’s internal elections.
The party assured its rank and file, stakeholders, and the general public that it remains committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity in its internal electoral processes. Enditem
