Hundreds of England supporters erupted in celebration at a London fan zone after Jude Bellingham scored twice to seal a 2-1 win over Norway after extra time, sending the team into the World Cup semi-finals.
Footage shows fans cheering during the quarter-final, listening as the national anthem plays and celebrating as the final whistle confirms England’s place in the last four.
Norway took the lead through Andreas Schjelderup before Bellingham equalised in first-half stoppage time. The midfielder struck again in the 93rd minute after the match went to extra time.
Cameron, an England fan, said, “We find a way. Good teams find a way, and that’s what we did, and listen. I think it’s coming home. I think after 60 years of hurt, we’re going to do it. We’ve got an absolute genius as a manager. We’ve got the best player in the world in Bellingham. It’s coming home!”
Ali, another fan, noted, “I think [we should] take it game by game because it could be Argentina or Switzerland; both are going to be a challenge, especially with England going all the way to extra time. They might be a bit tired, but I think players like Bellingham, Kane, and maybe Rashford off the bench can do it. They can do it.”
The win took Thomas Tuchel’s side into England’s fourth men’s World Cup semi-final. They will face the winner of Argentina’s quarter-final against Switzerland in Atlanta on July 15.
