Dreams FC beats Asante Kotoko 2-0 to push for top-half finish

Dreams FC strengthened their push for a top-half finish by defeating Asante Kotoko 2-0 in matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) clash on Sunday at the Tuba Astroturf in the national capital, Accra.

Goals from Oumar Nafal and Ebenezer Adade ensured Dreams claimed all three points at the Tuba AstroTurf, extending their impressive run of form in the competition.

The hosts made a bright start and took the lead in the 12th minute through Nafal, who finished off a well-worked move to give Dreams early control of the contest. Kotoko struggled to respond, lacking sharpness in the final third despite enjoying spells of possession.

Dreams maintained their discipline and intensity after the break, and their efforts were rewarded again in the 52nd minute when Adade doubled the advantage. The second goal effectively put the game beyond Kotoko, who failed to find a way back into the contest.

Kotoko’s attacking struggles were evident throughout, with the visitors unable to register a meaningful response as their winless run continued. Their away difficulties persisted, raising further concerns as the season approaches its conclusion.

The result lifts Dreams FC to seventh place with 43 points from 30 matches, while Asante Kotoko drop to eighth with 43 points, slipping further behind the leading pack. Enditem
