Debibi United loses at home to Medeama SC

Defending champions Medeama SC continued their impressive start to the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League (GPL) campaign with a 1-0 victory over debutants Debibi United on Sunday.

The Tarkwa-based club secured all three points on the road courtesy of a second-half strike from pacy winger Nana Kofi Babil, who broke the deadlock in the 68th minute to settle a closely contested encounter.

Babil’s decisive finish proved enough for the Mauve and Yellow, who demonstrated their experience and composure to see out the result and maintain their unbeaten record after five matches.

The victory takes Medeama’s tally to 11 points from a possible 15, leaving them top of the league standings on goal difference ahead of FC Samartex, who have accumulated the same number of points.

The champions are gradually finding their rhythm, with three wins and two draws from their opening five league matches.

The result leaves Debibi United 14th on the league table, with the newly promoted side now facing the task of turning their competitive performances into points as the season progresses. Enditem
