Aduana FC 2-1 Swedru All Blacks

Dormaa-based Aduana FC came from a goal down to secure a 2-1 victory over ten-man Swedru All Blacks at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park on Sunday, with Stephen Amankona scoring both goals.

The win extended the Fire Boys’ winning run to three matches, although they were made to work for the points.

It was All Blacks who made the brighter start, taking the lead just four minutes into the game through William Danquah.

Aduana gradually found their rhythm and drew level in the 35th minute through Amankona after Hensen beat his marker on the right before delivering a well-weighted cross into the box, which the forward finished off to restore parity.

The visitors remained resolute after the break but were reduced to ten men in the 53rd minute when Zayat Bubakari was sent off.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, the Black Magicians continued to frustrate the hosts and appeared on course for a valuable point.

The hosts were handed a golden opportunity to complete the comeback in the 85th minute when they were awarded a penalty. Amankona stepped up and made no mistake from the spot, although goalkeeper Michael Appiah got a hand to the effort before the ball sneaked beneath his gloves.

The victory moves Aduana up to fourth in the league standings on 10 points, level with Port City.

All Blacks will be disappointed to leave Dormaa empty-handed after putting up a spirited performance, but they will have the chance to respond when they return home to host Asante Kotoko.

Aduana, meanwhile, will look to maintain their impressive run when they travel to face Young Apostles in their next outing. Enditem
