The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) is set to resume the general releases of soldiers who have completed their service from this month, according to a statement released here late Wednesday.
The statement, signed by Va Arhin, Acting Director General for Public Relations, announced that the first batch of general releases is set to commence in May 2025.
Per the directive from the GAF, the first batch of general releases after the five-year suspension which will commence in May 2025 will involve personnel of the 1995- and 1996-year groups after successfully completing 30 years of meritorious service or having fully attained the compulsory retirement age in line with GAF Regulations.
“The Ghana Armed Forces wishes to formally announce to the general public, that it will resume general releases of soldiers who have completed their authorized years of service in accordance with GAF regulations, General releases of soldiers in GAF suspended five years ago in line with CI 129 which extended their terms of office for additional five years,” said the statement.
On behalf of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, the Chief of Defense Staff expressed his sincere appreciation to them for their selfless and meritorious service to the GAF in particular and the country in general, and to their beloved families for their unwavering support. Enditem
