TGMA: Past winners of ‘Artiste of the Year’ award

For over two decades, conversations and debates surrounding the ‘Artiste of the Year’ category have been overwhelming as it is the topmost of the awards of the Telecel Ghana Music Award (TGMA), formerly, the Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA)

It is the dream of every Ghanaian musician to win this coveted award. The debate about who wins the ‘Artiste of the Year’ this time has not been left out, as fans are already wrangling on social media over who wins the award this year.

The nominees, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Black Sherif, King Paluta, Team Eternity, Kweku Smoke, and Joe Mettle are fervently looking forward to the awards night with each of them hoping to clinch the coveted award.

In 2017, Joe Mettle shocked music lovers when he became the first Ghanaian gospel musician to win the topmost award.

Black Sherif’s winning of the award was an expected achievement as the talented musician was a reckoning force in the music industry last year, releasing hits and achieving global recognition.
