Mahama appoints Rev. Stephen Wengham Chair of GIS Governing Council

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Rev. Dr. Stephen Wengham, as Chairman of the newly inaugurated Governing Council of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), according to the presidency.

The inauguration of the GIS Governing Council was held on Thursday at the Ministry of Interior under the guidance of the sector minister, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak.

The GIS Governing Council is expected to provide strategic guidance and oversight for the operations and development of the Immigration Service, which plays a critical role in the country’s border security, migration management, and national development agenda. Enditem
