Parliament reviews security protocols for visitors, others

Parliament has announced the review of its security protocols to all visitors and other stakeholders to the legislative body, according to a statement by the Parliamentary Service on Wednesday.

All persons who are to visit Parliament, according to the statement, henceforth are to use the gate opposite the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) before they will be allowed entry after screening.

“The Parliament of Ghana respectfully announces to the general public that with immediate effect, the Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has directed that all visitors and stakeholders to Parliament House are to use the ceremonial gate (opposite the Accra International Conference Center) to access the precincts of Parliament,” read the statement.

According to the directive, upon arrival, visitors would be directed to the visitors center for appropriate processing, verification, and confirmation of the purpose of their visit to the Parliament House.

According to the statement, the new directive is “intended to enhance security, streamline visitor management, and maintain order in the operational flow within the precincts of Parliament.” Enditem
