Five prospective presidential aspirants have filed to contest the 2026 presidential primary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the party confirmed at the close of nominations on Thursday in a statement.
The statement, signed by William Yamoah, Secretary to the Presidential Elections Committee observed that the five who picked the forms have completed and submitted to the party.
“The Presidential Elections Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) wishes to inform all stakeholders that, as of Thursday, August 28, 2025, five aspirants who earlier picked nomination forms have duly filed their completed forms with the Committee,” read the statement.
Among the aspirants, according to the Committee, are Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, Hon. Dr. Bryan Acheampong, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
The Committee assured all stakeholders of its commitment to a transparent, credible, and fair process, guided by the Party’s Constitution and Regulations, to ensure the integrity of the process.
The NPP will hold a presidential primary on January 31, 2026. Enditem
