Police demolish suspected criminal hideouts at Ashaiman Fitter-Line

The Ashaiman District Police Command has intensified its crackdown on crime ahead of the Christmas festivities, demolishing structures believed to serve as hideouts for suspected criminals at Fitter-Line.

The operation, carried out at about 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, was led by District Commander DSP Orlando Joseph Adzokpa and involved 30 police personnel.

The police said the raid was aimed at disrupting criminal activities and addressing security concerns involving suspected criminals accused of terrorising residents in Ashaiman and its surrounding communities.

However, the suspects reportedly fled the area upon spotting the approaching police team, leaving officers unable to make any arrests. The personnel subsequently pulled down the structures identified as suspected hideouts.

The exercise ended at about 8:40 a.m. without any reported incident.

The command has indicated that the operation forms part of sustained efforts to clamp down on crime and strengthen security in the municipality ahead of the festive season.

It said the measures were intended to ensure residents could carry out their daily activities and legitimate businesses without fear, intimidation or disruption before, during and after Christmas. Enditem
