By Francis Kobena Tandoh

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is officially embarking on a three-day campaign tour of the Ashanti Region from Wednesday, September 10, to Friday, September 12, 2025, sources from his office have confirmed.

The campaign by the former vice president is aimed at garnering support ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) presidential primary election slated for January 31, 2026.

Among the constituencies that Dr. Bawumia will be engaging the people to sell his message during the three-day tour includes the following:

Adansi, Amansie, Asante Akim (Day 1)

Sekyere–Kumawu, Nsuta–Mampong, Afigya-Kwabre (Day 2), and

Ahafo-Atwima, Kumasi Zones 1 & 2 (Day 3).

During the tour, the former vice president is expected to engage with delegates, constituency executives (members of Parliament (MPs), former metropolitan, municipal, and district chief executives (MMDCEs), and regional elders to present his vision and seek their endorsements.

Dr. Bawumia has been emphasizing unity, peace, and reconciliation within the party, projecting a forward-looking leadership approach to prepare for both the primary and 2028 general elections.

The Ashanti Region remains a pivotal NPP stronghold with substantial delegate weight. Success in this region is widely considered a key determinant in internal party primaries.

The zonal and ground-level approach ensured no constituency felt sidelined—crucial for momentum and cohesion ahead of the primary. End item
