The use of live ammunition is strictly prohibited ahead of the final funeral rites of the Asantehemaa Nana Kondau Yiadom III, according to the Manhyia Palace.
In a public announcement released by the funeral planning committee, it was also observed that firing of musketry will only be allowed when directed towards the sky.
“Manhyia Palace hereby reminds all chiefs, traditional leaders, and members of the public attending the final burial rites of Nana Kondau Yiadom III, Asantehemaa, on 18th September 2025, of the following directive: the use of live ammunition is strictly prohibited,” read the announcement.
“Firing of musketry is allowed only when directed towards the sky, not at any person or the ground,” it added.
The funeral planning committee urged all to comply with the directives and warned anyone found violating the rules will be arrested and subjected to the appropriate legal action. End item
