Asantehemaa Nana Kondau Yiadom III goes home today

The final funeral rites, or “Doteyie,” of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, will be held today, Thursday, September 18, 2025, according to the Manhyia Palace.

Public viewing of the remains of the late Queen Mother ends at 11 a.m. today, and the president, John Dramani Mahama, and former presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be among the high-profile personalities to pay their last respects.

Subsequently, a burial service will be held before the remains of the 14th Asantehemaa are interred at the Breman Royal Mausoleum at midnight.

Ahead of the final day, many institutions, including educational institutions, and shops in Kumasi are closing in respect of her burial.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III died on August 7 this year at age 98 after being enstooled in 2017. She was the elder sister of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. End item
