Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene has expressed profound sadness over the death of the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Abubakar Sedik.
The DCE died on Sunday, September 20, 2026, after a brief illness, shortly after returning to Mankranso from a meeting with the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, in Kumasi.
Dr Amoakohene described the death as a great loss to the bereaved family, the people of Ahafo Ano South West, the Ashanti Region and the government.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Hon. Abubakar Sedik, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West District, after a brief illness. His untimely passing is a great loss to his family, the people of Ahafo Ano South West, colleagues, the Ashanti Region and the entire Government, the minister posted on his Facebook page on Monday.
He extended his condolences to the late DCE’s family, loved ones, colleagues and constituents, and prayed for strength and comfort for them during the difficult period.
