Former Ghanaian boxer Michael Nii Ayitey Okai, popularly known as Ayitey Powers, appeared before the court on Tuesday following his arrest over an alleged death threat against National Sports Authority (NSA) Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.
Powers was arrested by the Accra Regional Police Command on August 24 after a video circulated on social media in which he allegedly threatened the NSA boss. Police had said he was assisting with investigations.
According to a report from his lawyer, Ayitey Powers pleaded not guilty, and the case has been adjourned to September 2, 2026 to allow the police to continue their investigations. Enditem
