Over five hours of a heavy downpour starting in the wee hours of Sunday swept across several parts of Ghana, leaving many areas flooded as the rains continue into the morning.
The early morning torrential rains, which started at 03:21 hours GMT have been steady and intense across some regions in the country as at 09:18 hours GMT.
Low-lying areas in the Greater Accra, Ashanti, and Central regions were particularly affected, with reports of waterlogging in several communities.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) had earlier warned of a likelihood of heavy rainfall Sunday morning and urged the public to take the necessary precautions.
As of the time of filing this report, no major casualties had been recorded yet and Ghana Eye Report will continue to monitor the situation and inform readers accordingly. Enditem
