Israeli and Lebanese delegations left the US Embassy in Rome on Wednesday after a second day of US-brokered talks aimed at easing tensions along their shared border.
Footage shows police escorting vehicles as they leave the embassy. The Israeli delegation departs first, followed by the Lebanese convoy, accompanied by armed security personnel travelling in a Land Rover.
The latest round of talks follows a US-brokered framework agreement reached in June, under which Israel and Lebanon agreed to begin implementing pilot zones in southern Lebanon.
The proposal envisages a phased Israeli troop withdrawal from selected areas, the deployment of the Lebanese Armed Forces, and discussions on removing armed groups from those zones. US officials said the Rome talks made further progress towards implementing the agreement.
Previous negotiations resulted in an agreement for Israel to begin withdrawing its forces from two towns in southern Lebanon as part of the phased plan.
While both governments have expressed support for continuing negotiations, Hezbollah has rejected the framework, saying it will not accept any agreement with Israel.
The meetings are the latest in a series of US-mediated talks as Washington works toward a broader arrangement to end hostilities and improve security around the Israel-Lebanon border.
