Newly elected Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has begun his post-election reconciliation efforts with a visit to his former contender, Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu.

COKA secured 663 votes against Kokofu’s 269 in the Ashanti Regional chairmanship election held on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

During the meeting, COKA called for forgiveness, unity and a collective effort to rebuild the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.

He stressed that the NPP could only regain political power if all factions worked together, while urging supporters of the various candidates to put their differences aside.

Dr Kokofu welcomed the gesture and pledged his support for COKA’s leadership, describing unity as essential to rebuilding the party and securing victory in 2028. Enditem
