The police in the Western Regional Command have declared an Arabic teacher, Sule Anas, for defilement and having unnatural carnal knowledge of two minors at Fijai Zongo, near Sekondi, according to a statement on Thursday.
The statement, signed by Superintendent Ms. Olivia ET Adiku, Head of the Public Affairs Unit at Sekondi, said the suspect was employed by leaders of the Fijai Zongo Central Community to teach their children Arabic on weekends.
According to the police, the suspect, in the course of carrying out his mandate, lured victims to a storeroom inside the mosque with the pretext of doing spiritual cleansing and ended up sodomizing and defiling the minors.
The police said a warrant for the arrest of Anas was issued, but the suspect is currently on the run and may be hiding in Cote d’Ivoire or Togo.
The police further urged anyone with credible information on the whereabouts of the suspect to assist them to effect his arrest. Enditem
