Russia launched a large-scale drone and missile assault on Ukraine early Sunday, killing one man and injuring 15 others in the Kiev region, local authorities said.
Regional Governor Mykola Kalashnyk wrote on Telegram that six of the region’s seven districts were affected. Most of the casualties occurred in the western Fastiv district, where a building suffered significant damage.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia fired nearly 300 combat drones and 50 missiles overnight, targeting seven regions across the country.
He said the main objective of the attack was Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, though residential buildings and railway facilities were also damaged. Zelensky called for intensifying efforts to strengthen the country’s air defense systems to protect critical infrastructure. Enditem
