More than 3,000 people gathered Thursday around the Galileo Galilei Planetarium in Buenos Aires to watch the lunar eclipse.
Families, groups of friends and astronomy enthusiasts began arriving in the early evening, bringing telescopes, cameras and mobile phones to follow the phenomenon and capture images of the Moon.
The event turned the Planetarium into one of the city’s main observation points, with large crowds waiting to watch the eclipse progress through its different stages.
The evening also featured activities and presentations by specialists, who provided the public with information about the eclipse and the Moon’s movements.
The eclipse was visible across parts of the Americas, as well as parts of Africa, Europe and the Pacific.
