A body was seen floating upside down in the water in distressing footage captured of the ferry disaster on Zimbabwe’s Lake Kariba on Tuesday.
Video also shows the capsized vessel and rescue boats carrying survivors.
At least 15 people were confirmed dead and dozens more missing, after the ferry with 90 passengers and five crew overturned.
Zimbabwean MP Mutsa Murombedzi said the vessel would normally take around five hours to cross the lake and was “hit by strong winds” during the journey from Kariba.
The Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (RIDA) ferry was travelling from Kariba Urban toward the Chalala Fishing Camp via Long Island.
