Hearts of Oak edge Eleven Wonders 1-0 to pick second win of the season

Glorious club, Accra Hearts of Oak recorded their second win of the 2025/26 Premier League season after edging 1-0 over Eleven Wonders in Match Day 3 of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium late Friday.

The Phobians started brightly, and their early pressure was rewarded in the 17th minute when Enock Asubonteng pounced on a loose ball inside the box and fired home following a goalmouth scramble from a corner kick.

The win temporarily lifted Hearts to the top of the Premier League log with seven points, while Eleven Wonders remain winless after three matches.

Hearts of Oak enjoyed more of the ball with 54 percent possession compared to Wonders’ 46 percent. However, the visitors created more opportunities, registering 10 total shots against Hearts’ three. Wonders also forced goalkeeper Benjamin Asare into several saves with five shots on target, while Hearts managed three efforts on goal.

Despite creating fewer chances, Hearts made their dominance in possession count and defended resolutely to secure another vital win.

The Accra-based club will now turn its attention to its next game, which is against Bechem United, while Wonders will hope to secure their first win of the season against Young Apostles in the Premier League next weekend. Enditem
