The United States Embassy in Ghana on Tuesday announced the immediate availability of more than 1,000 non-immigrant visa appointment slots, offering prospective travellers the opportunity to secure interview dates within the next week.
In a post on the official Facebook page of the Embassy, it indicated that a significant number of B1/B2 visa appointments designated for business and tourism travel are currently open and encouraged applicants to take advantage of the availability.
“There are more than 1,000 B1/B2 visa appointment slots available in the next week – one of those could be yours,” read the post.
The move forms part of broader preparations by the United States to facilitate increased travel opportunities for football fans in the West African country ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which it will co-host with Canada and Mexico.
The embassy advised applicants who already have appointments scheduled for later in the year to reschedule for an earlier date if convenient.
It added, “Book a new appointment or move up one scheduled for later in the year – we want to interview you now!”
The post directed prospective applicants to visit the embassy’s official visa page for detailed information on requirements and the application process.
Ghana is among eight other African countries that have qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and fans are expected to travel to support the Black Stars, who will be making their fifth appearance at the Mundial. Enditem
