President John Dramani Mahama on Friday appealed to parties involved in the war currently ongoing in the Middle East to choose dialogue to end the war.
Addressing hundreds of Muslims at the end of Ramadan at the independence square in the national capital, Mahama expressed worry that the instability in the Middle East would have negative impact on other parts of the world.
He appealed to Muslims in the country to pray for peace in the Middle East and expressed optimism that U.S. President Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, and the leadership of Iran would choose dialogue over conflict.
“Today, as we pray to Allah, our thoughts and prayers are with those in the Middle East. May Allah touch Trump and the Middle East leaders to ensure this war comes to an end,” said Mahama.
President Mahama further indicated that Ghana is committed to peace in the world and will continue to appeal to the leaders to bring about peace in the Middle East. Enditem
