Football world governing body FIFA has confirmed that Ghana has qualified for the Round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup before their final group L match against Croatia.
According to a statement on FIFA’s official website, Ghana joined Egypt, England, and Portugal to advance to the next round of the competition before their final round of matches.
“Egypt, England, Ghana, and Portugal all booked their places in the Round of 32 before kicking a ball in their final group matches. With each having already reached four points, and thanks to results in Group H having shifted the qualifying threshold, that was enough to guarantee progression,” said FIFA in a statement.
The West Africans began their World Cup campaign by edging Panama 1-0 before drawing 0-0 with tournament favorites, the Three Lions of England.
Ghana has thus performed better than in their last two appearances in the FIFA World Cup, where the Black Stars exited at the group stage in 2014 and 2022.
Ghana will play their final Group L match against Croatia in Philadelphia late Saturday. Enditem
