Ghana recorded a total of 1,306,962 international tourist arrivals in 2025, higher than the 1,288,804 recorded in 2024, Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts Minister Abla Dzifa Gomashie said on Monday.
During the regular government accountability series at the presidency, Gomashie said that domestic tourism also grew about 7 percent from 1.68 million in 2024 to 1.79 million last year.
From the 1.3 million visitors, the West African cocoa, gold, and crude oil exporter generated an estimated 4.34 billion U.S. dollars in revenue, Gomashie said.
The minister highlighted the performance of the country’s 10 major tourism destinations, including the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Cape Coast Castle, and the Shai Hills Resource Reserve, among others.
These attractions recorded a combined number of 1,377,588 visitors, which represented 77 percent of all tourism visits in 2025, the minister said. Enditem
