Fuel prices in Ghana are expected to increase from Wednesday, September 16, 2026, as higher global crude oil prices put pressure on the domestic petroleum market.
The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) projects that petrol could rise to about GH¢16.26 per litre, while diesel is expected to reach GH¢19.07 per litre. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices are also expected to increase.
The projected increases come after the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) raised the price floors for petroleum products in the September 1–15 pricing window.
COPEC has also called for government intervention, including a continuation of the GH¢2 per litre diesel support and a GH¢1 per litre reduction in petrol prices, to cushion consumers from the expected increases.
The final pump prices, however, will depend on individual Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and developments in the international oil market. Enditem
