Ghana’s Parliament reconvenes today, Monday, August 24, 2026, following a recall by Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin to consider urgent parliamentary business.
The House, which adjourned on July 31, is expected to sit from August 24 to August 28 at Parliament House in Accra. The recall was made under Order 58(4) of the Standing Orders of Parliament.
Among the key matters expected to come before the House are the vetting and approval of ministerial nominees, including Mahama Ayariga and Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, although the Speaker’s original recall notice did not specify the exact business.
The special sitting comes barely three weeks after Parliament went on recess. Enditem
