Ghana’s Black Queens has dropped five places to 65th in the latest FIFA Women’s ranking released on Tuesday.
Ghana’s performance at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament in Morocco two months ago affected their drop.
The Black Queens were knocked out of the competition in the quarterfinals by Malawi and failed to make the semifinals of the competition, missing out on an automatic slot to the 2027 Women’s World Cup.
On the African continent, Nigeria is ranked first with South Africa, Cameroon, Morocco, and Ghana following in that order.
The Black Queens last week beat Mauritius 10-0 aggregate to move to the final stage of the qualification phase for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Enditem
