By Francis Kobena Tandoh

Newly elected Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma North, Ewurabena Aubynn, said late Friday that the task ahead in the constituency is quite clear to her.

In her first public statement moments after being declared winner of the Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun, she emphasized her constituency has been neglected for far too long and that she was bent on tackling the challenges in the area.

She identified some of the issues facing the constituency as including flooding, sanitation, and poor roads, among several others.

“The issues in Ablekuma North are quite simple and deep. They include flooding, sanitation, and poor roads. These are the things we are deprived of, and I’m sure we will work at it,” said the MP-elect.

Eurabena Aubynn expressed her delight to the people of the constituency for giving her and the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) a historic victory.

“It is a good feeling to win this seat for the first time. I am grateful to the people of the constituency for making this possible,” she added.

The Electoral Commission (EC) declared Ewurabena Aubynn the winner of Friday’s parliamentary rerun. According to the electoral management body, she polled 34,090 valid votes as against 33,881 by Nana Akua Afriyie of the opposition New Patriotic Party. Enditem
