The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned power outages in three regions scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2025, due to ongoing maintenance aimed at improving power delivery and network reliability.
According to the ECG, the affected regions in their distribution system include Tema, Greater Accra, and Western.
The planned outage, the ECG announced, is part of routine maintenance and infrastructure upgrades to enhance electricity distribution and ensure more stable, efficient service to homes and businesses.
“These works are necessary to upgrade infrastructure and ensure efficient energy delivery,” ECG said in its public notice issued on Friday, July 11.
The specific affected areas in the ECG distribution system are as follows:
Tema Region
- 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Mobole
- Ataa Mensah
- Boishe
- Afienya
- Philip Kope
- Greenhouse Enclave and surrounding communities
Greater Accra Region
- 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Kings Cottage
- KICC
- Taxis Tires
- Western World
- Guinness Depot
- Rebecca Fashion Manufacturing Ltd
- Frosty Bite Company
- Perfect Pharmaceutical
- Shivan Ghana Ltd
- Mawums
- Akuaba Refinery
- Eskay Pharmaceutical
- Royal Crown Ltd
- West Coast Beverages
- Equator Foods
- Intelligent Card Products
- Healthy Life
- DPS
- Daysack Company Ltd

The ECG apologised for the inconvenience and urged the public to bear with them while these essential works are carried out.
“We apologise for the inconvenience the scheduled power interruptions may cause,” the company stated. “Customers are advised to take necessary precautions and follow ECG’s official channels for further updates.” Enditem
