Adamus Resources Limited has rejected the basis for the revocation of its License by the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah saying the action constitutes a serious lapse in due process, according to a statement on Monday.
In a statement released by management of the mining firm, it observed that the contents of the allegations are baseless as it undermine established principles of fairness and administrative justice, especially involving mineral rights with significant investments over the years, more so when the company was not formally notified of the specific allegations and was not afforded the opportunity to address same as required by the mining laws of Ghana.
“Adamus Resources Limited (“the company”) has taken note of a purported revocation of its mining leases covering the Akango, Salman and Nkroful concessions and wishes to address the matter in the interest of accuracy and public clarity,” read the statement.
“The company strongly rejects the allegations that have been cited as the basis for the revocation and states that they do not reflect the true facts surrounding its operations. The company maintains that it is a duly licensed mining entity operating under valid permits issued within Ghana’s regulatory framework, including approvals from the Minerals Commission and the Environmental Protection Agency in accordance with the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703),” it added.
The company said it is currently engaging the relevant authorities to clarify the situation and address the concerns raised, with confidence that a full and fair examination of the facts will demonstrate its compliance with applicable law.
Adamus Resources Limited said it remains committed to responsible mining, environmental protection and strict adherence to Ghana’s laws and regulations and that it shall take all necessary steps to protect its legal rights while maintaining constructive engagement with stakeholders. Enditem
