Four aspirants have been cleared by the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to contest the National Chairmanship position in the party’s 2026 National Officers’ Election.
The four are former National Chairman Paul Afoko, former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, former General Secretary John Boadu, and Sammy Crabbe.
The National Officers’ Elections Vetting Committee cleared all 47 aspirants who went through the vetting process between August 31 and September 3, 2026. Four candidates were cleared for the National Chairman position.
The election is scheduled for October 3, 2026, while balloting to determine candidates’ positions on the ballot paper is scheduled for September 9 at the NPP headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra.
Notably, incarcerated Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, who had initially picked nomination forms, is not among the four cleared candidates. Enditem
