Head coach of Brazil men’s national football team Carlo Ancelotti signalled plans for improvements after the ‘Selecao’ were held to a hard-fought 1-1 draw by Morocco in their World Cup Group C opener in New Jersey on Saturday.
“Total confidence. I think that in football not everything goes perfectly. When it does not go perfectly, you have to make constructive criticism to improve things,” Ancelotti said at the post-match press conference.
“We will do it and we will improve. This is just the beginning of this journey,” he underlined.
Footage also shows both teams’ fans arriving at the New York-New Jersey Stadium in team colours, cheering and chanting to support their nations ahead of the tie.
Morocco struck first through Ismael Saibari before Vinicius Junior equalised before halftime. Neither side found a winner as the match ended 1-1.
The result leaves Morocco and Brazil second and third in Group C, respectively, after the opening round, with Scotland top following a win 1-0 over Haiti.
Brazil will face Haiti in Philadelphia on June 19, while Morocco is scheduled to face Scotland in Boston on the same date.
