Chinese and Sierra Leonean youths on Sunday jointly participated in the China-Sierra Leone Friendship Run to commemorate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in the capital Freetown.
Organized by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Sierra Leone in collaboration with the China Railway Seventh Group (CRSG), the event featured 55 young representatives, symbolizing the 55 years of enduring friendship and cooperation between China and Sierra Leone.
The participants jogged together along the China-Sierra Leone Friendship Road, highlighting their shared commitment to friendship, unity and a brighter future.
Wang Bin, representative of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, said the anniversary reflects 55 years of mutual respect, mutual trust and win-win cooperation, noting that Chinese enterprises remain committed to supporting Sierra Leone’s economic and social development while serving as a bridge of friendship between the two peoples.
Speaking on behalf of Sierra Leonean participants, CRSG local manager Alfred Kamara described the event as a meaningful symbol of the strong relationship between the two nations.
He said cooperation in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, mining and trade has strengthened people-to-people ties, adding that working alongside Chinese colleagues has deepened mutual understanding, teamwork and respect.
The event concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to expanding China-Sierra Leone friendship and cooperation for future generations. Enditem
