Ghana has been awarded the rights to host the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations next year, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced late Monday.

According to CAF, the tournament is scheduled to be held between February and March 2027.

“The TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2027 is scheduled to be staged in Ghana in February and March next year,” said CAF.

The granting of the hosting rights for the 2027 tournament coincides with the country’s 70th independence anniversary celebrations.

The cocoa-, gold-, and oil-producing country hosted the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, formerly known as the African Youth Championship in 1999. Enditem
