Ghana and Saudi Arabia have held discussions on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) focused on advancing the impressive relations between the two countries, according to Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa on Wednesday.
In a post on his Facebook page, Ablakwa stated that the discussions with his Saudi Arabian counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, centred on railway development and energy infrastructure.
“The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, held a bilateral meeting last week in New York with the esteemed Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, focused on advancing the impressive relations between their two countries, particularly in the areas of railway development and energy infrastructure,” Ghana’s FM posted.
The two ministers, Ablakwa further emphasised, agreed to forge closer ties on a number of continental priority issues as Ghana’s president, John Dramani Mahama, prepares to take over the Chair of the African Union in January next year.
The two countries, according to him, will, in the coming days, accelerate high-level engagements towards increasing investments and supporting Ghana’s president’s ‘reset agenda’. Enditem
