The Greater Accra Regional Directorate of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has condemned an attack on a staff nurse at the Tema Community 22 Polyclinic by family members of a patient at the facility, according to a statement on Friday.
The condemnation follows a viral video on social media in which a nurse is captured being attacked and assaulted by relatives of a patient.
The statement, signed by Dr. Robert Amesiya, described the attack as unprovoked as the nurse was enforcing visiting hours at the facility.
“The Greater Regional Health Directorate strongly condemns the assault and battery on one of our staff at the Tema Community 22 Polyclinic, as captured in a video currently circulating on social media.
