President Vladimir Putin emphasised how Russia was one of the few nations that could produce advanced weaponry completely independently, during his meeting with permanent members of the Russian Federation’s Security Council in Moscow on Thursday.
“As you know, Russia is one of the few countries in the world that independently produces the necessary materials, components and raw materials for the mass production of advanced models and the modernisation of existing models of weapons, military and specialised equipment. As is always the case with such a large-scale undertaking, there are many issues that concern virtually every department represented here,” Putin pointed out.
According to the Kremlin, the meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Federation Council chairperson Valentina Matviyenko, Defence Minister Andrei Belousov, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, and others.
