The newly elected Central Regional Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have paid a courtesy call on the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as part of efforts to strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The delegation was led by the newly elected Central Regional Chairman, Joseph Kobinah Esibu, who secured 278 votes in the regional executive elections, defeating Percy Dennis, who polled 161 votes.

The meeting forms part of the NPP’s ongoing reorganisation following the regional executive elections. Dr Bawumia has stressed that the party’s immediate priority is to rebuild its structures, unite its members and prepare for victory in the 2028 elections.
Dr. Bawumia warmly congratulated the executives on their successful election victories and commended them for their dedication to the grassroots foundation of the party. Emphasizing the critical importance of cohesion, he urged the leadership to foster absolute unity and work hand in hand with all party stakeholders across all constituencies in the Central Region.

In response, the newly elected regional executives expressed their profound gratitude to the flagbearer and pledged to work diligently, fastidiously, and in harmonious alignment with all local structures. They reaffirmed their collective commitment to galvanizing the grassroots base to deliver an overwhelming and resounding victory for the NPP in the Central Region.
The Central Regional executives are expected to work with constituency structures to consolidate the party’s support base and position the NPP to reclaim political power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2028.

The opposition NPP held elections across the 16 regions to elect various executives having already conducted their polling station and constituency elections.

The party is expected to hold national executive elections to elect national officers on October 3 this year to get themselves ready ahead of the 2028 general election. Enditem
