In a statement to clarify articles published by several online sites, the company described the reports as incorrect and should be disregared.

“Our attention has been drawn to several online news articles indicating a Takoradi bound flight returning mid-air to base in Accra because of fuel shortage. These reports are incorrect and should be disregarded,” read the statement.

• Approximately six (6) minutes after take-off, the Captain elected to return to base due to an indication received in the flight deck not related to fuel.

• The aircraft landed safely in Accra, and our ground engineers immediately began diagnostics to address the issue.

• As per standard operating procedures, passengers were safely disembarked.

• After troubleshooting and rectification of the fault, the aircraft was returned to service.  Refueling was carried out as per standard operating procedure.

• Flight OP 122A was operated successfully without incident.

PassionAir emphasized that the safety and comfort of their passengers remain a top priority and will operate in strict compliance with standards set by our aviation regulator.
