Prices of petrol, diesel and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) have increased in Ghana as the second pricing window for September 2026 begins today, Wednesday, September 16.
The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has raised the minimum price floors for all three products amid higher international crude oil and refined petroleum product prices.
The new NPA price floors are:
- Petrol: GH¢16.00 per litre, up from GH¢14.53
- Diesel: GH¢16.77 per litre, up from GH¢15.60
- LPG: GH¢10.97 per kilogramme, up from GH¢10.85
The increases represent GH¢1.47 per litre for petrol, GH¢1.17 for diesel and GH¢0.12 per kilogramme for LPG.
However, the NPA floor prices are minimum regulatory prices and do not necessarily represent the actual pump prices at every fuel station, as Oil Marketing Companies determine their final prices based on applicable margins and other costs.
The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) had projected that petrol could average GH¢16.26 per litre, diesel GH¢19.07 per litre, and LPG about GH¢15.32 per kilogramme during the new pricing window.
